The Recovery & Reorganisation Assistant Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing insolvency cases, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and procedures, and providing strategic advice to clients facing financial distress.
Key Responsibilities
- Case Management:Oversee and manage a portfolio of insolvency cases, including bankruptcies, liquidations, and administrations.
- Client Advisory:Provide expert advice to clients on insolvency processes, options, and strategies to manage financial distress.
- Compliance:Ensure all insolvency cases comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Financial Analysis:Conduct detailed financial analysis to understand the financial position of distressed companies and individuals.
- Stakeholder Communication:Act as the primary point of contact for creditors, debtors, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Documentation:Prepare and review all necessary documentation for insolvency proceedings, including reports, statements of affairs, and other legal documents.
- Negotiation:Negotiate with creditors and other parties to reach agreements that are in the best interest of all stakeholders.
- Reporting:Provide regular updates and reports to senior management, clients, and relevant authorities on the progress of insolvency cases.
- Team Leadership:Lead and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and support in managing insolvency cases.
- Continuous Improvement:Stay updated on changes in insolvency laws and practices, and implement best practices within the team.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting/management/law/finance or any other related professional qualification.
- Solid proven experience in or exposure to various industries in Mauritius or abroad.
- Relevant professional qualification would be an advantage.
- Strong analytical, logical and lateral thinking.
- Good knowledge of Companies Act 2001 (as amended) and Insolvency Act 2009 (as amended).
- Ability to adapt to different business environments.
- Strong communication skills in English and French, both writing and spoken, are required.
- Ability to learn quickly and keen interest in understanding legal system in Mauritius.
- Willingness to work flexible hours when needed.
- Good Team player and Deadline oriented.
