The Quality Assurance Officer ensures that the programmes are delivered to the required quality and standards as established by the academic partners and internally by the organisation.

 

Post: Quality Assurance Officer
Salary: Rs 30,00 - 45,000
(Negotiable on the basis of experience and qualifications)

Duration: Contractual basis for two years, may be considered for permanent and pensionable establishment upon satisfactory completion of contractual employment

Qualifications: A degree in Management/ Business from a recognized institution or equivalent qualification acceptable to the Board.
Experience: At least five years of proven working experience in ensuring quality within a tertiary environment.
A. Extensively IT literate
Knowledge and Skills: Candidates should –
A. Fluency in English Language.
B. Analytical and Decision making skills
C. Ability to work autonomously
D. Sound knowledge of Quality Assurance Standards in the tertiary environment.
E. Experience in ensuring the administration and accurate and appropriate recording and storage of Quality Assurance records
F. Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability.
Candidates should produce written evidence of experience/knowledge claimed.
Duties:

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer/ Dean or any delegated officer, your duties will, inter alia, be and not restricted to;
1. ensure the development of fit for purpose Quality Assurance policies and procedures and monitor implementation and effectiveness of same;
2. Act as Secretary to Academic Board and/or designated subcommittees;
3. Manage administration associated with New Programme Validations and Programmatic Reviews, including logisticsmanagement, note taking, liaising with relevant Academic Faculty and panel members and working with relevant Chairs of panels in the discharge of their duties;
4. Act as desk reviewer for all programme validations and reviews;
5. Support the institutional review process and the completion of institutional self-evaluation;
6. Implement the annual Quality Assurance Handbook evaluation and review process;
7. Ensure the accuracy of information received and the communication of same post validation / review process;
8. Ensure the Chief Executive Officer is notified of new programme validations or changes to validated programmes;
9. Establish, monitor and maintain a central library of documentation pertaining to the activities of the academic affairs department and ensure the consistent application of a robust version control process;
10. Act as a point of contact and communication conduit with validating bodies as required;
11. Provide guidance in the development, implementation, monitoring and review of Quality Assurance procedures,including in developing and delivering training and information
sessions for staff;
12. Keep an accurate record of all approved Programme Schedules and dates in which they are due for their next review;
13. Maintain the External Examiner Register, and liaise with External Examiners as required and appropriate, including supporting the external examiner induction process;
14. Assist with graduation and student registration;
15. To perform such duties directly related to the main duties listed above or related to the delivery of the output and results expected from the IT and Social Media Officer in the roles
ascribed to him/her.
NOTE
The Quality Assurance Officer may be required to work outside normal working hours, including Sundays and Public Holidays
