Our client
is looking for a project engineer ; based in Plan Business Park, Pamplemousses,
Mauritius.
The Project Engineer will work in an exciting
environment working with medium-to-large-sized equipment supply projects,
specifically for new grinding mill supply projects for clients based worldwide.
Qualification:
- Mechanical Engineer with an appropriate qualification from
University or Technical College.
Experience:
- >5 years in a mechanical engineering environment or similar.
- Mineral processing and/or heavy engineering experience would be
beneficial.
- Hands-on (Prictical) experience in the manufacturing environment.
- Site/Installation experience.
- Proven track record in project management skills consisting of:
Management of projects,
- Budget control,
- Time control/scheduling,
- Quality control,
- Organizational skills,
- Time management,
- Leadership and supervisory skills,
- Decision-making skills,
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Experience in supply and installation contracts.
- The ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite as well as experience with
Microsoft Projects.
- Have a good understanding of how to read engineering drawings,
process & instrumentation diagrams (P&ID’s).
- A good understanding of the various component manufacturing
techniques (castings, forgings, fabrications, and machining).
- Must be able to work in a high-pressure environment.

notes:
- All correspondence will be in the English language so the
applicant must be fluent in English – both written and verbal.
- The Project Engineer will report directly to the Project Manager
and Projects Director.
- International travel may be required from time to time to various
manufacturing points worldwide as well as visiting the various
mine/installation sites, as required.

The Project Engineer
is a dedicated, professional individual managing the scheduling, planning,
forecasting, finance, resourcing, quality, and technical activities of a
project to ensure project accuracy and quality of supply.
The Project Engineer
is responsible for managing, coordinating, and administering projects during
the delivery stages of the project lifecycle: from planning, implementation,
execution, monitoring and controlling to the final closing out of the project. Manage
all supervisors, contractors, and subcontractors. To ensure that everyone
delivers the project within the required scope and schedule. Ensure the project
is delivered within the safety, quality, and environmental best practices
including the prime contract, deliverables, project viability and
profitability. Manage the whole project process, objectives, and expectations.
Resolve problems and coordinate the final handover of the project.
Importantly, the
primary role of the candidate is to handle a capital mill supply project to the
value of USD 2m to USD 5m. The Project Engineer will need to be able to work on
several different size projects concurrently.
The Project Engineer
will need to contribute to the overall project objectives along with the
project team and complete individual deliverables as instructed by the Project
Manager and Projects Director.
Key
Responsibilities:
- Contract review and definition of the scope of supply and project
milestones.
- Cashflow analysis and forecast: Including a monthly overview of
payments to suppliers,
- Invoicing to clients based on project milestone payments,
- Project budget control.
- Project planning and schedule control.
- Design review and continuous drawing review (squad check
sign-off).
- Procurement and expediting.
- Interface with suppliers on manufacturing, progress, and quality.
- Continuous updating and reporting to management.
- Client interface and reporting.
- Document control based on the vendor data & document register.
Document close-out and sign off as proof of milestone completion.
