 This is an exciting opportunity to work for a well-established importer, manufacturer and distributor company in the FMCG sector.

Our Client, La Trobe Co. Ltd, operates the latest Tetrapak technology and produces UHT milk and juice under the brand names of Snowy milk and Nature’s Juice respectively. La Trobe Co. Ltd is now recruiting for its production plant based in the South (Tyack) a Production / Laboratory Assistant.


Main Duties:

  • Perform laboratory testing of various products, e.g. UHT milk & juice
  • Ensure that all laboratory equipment are in good working conditions, e.g. pH meter, refractometer, flasks, pipes, etc.
  • Monitor stock of buffer solutions and perform daily & weekly tests, e.g. pH testing
  • Liaise with external agencies for best quotations & analysis
  • Assist in the daily production by monitoring production mix & supervision of floor staff
  • Ensure quality of raw materials & finished products
  • Develop & implement Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Assist in Quality Management process by monitoring products standards & quality control programme

 

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Degree in Food Science/ Food Production or any equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a laboratory / food production environment

 

Ideal Profile:

  • Good team working, planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent leadership and communicational skills
  • Good knowledge of health & safety issues
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to work under pressure & at odd hours (as & when required)
  • Fluent in English & French
  • Good knowledge of quality management in food production

Preference will be given to candidates residing in the South.
