Tamassa Bel Ombre is looking for a Porter to assist in the daily Front Office operations
Promotion and Direct Up-selling
• Provides any required information, facilities to educational tours and to supply customers with hotel features.
SOP Compliance and Quality Assurance
• Carries out all delegated duties in accordance with the Hotel’s standards and checklists, and with Management instructions.
• Assists the Head Porter in implementing all SOP(s) and monitoring their professional execution.
Team Management
• Passes-on messages and information to colleagues during briefing sessions.
• Assists in providing on-the-job training and coaching sessions in order to develop knowledge and competencies of co-workers.
Front Office Operations
• Oversees that effective assistance is being provided to guests during check-in and check-out.
• Ensures that maximum security is given to items left at the front office by guests.
• Porter Duties
• Informs of guest arrivals by beating triangle.
• Prepares “mise-en-place” of cold towels.
• Opens doors of vehicle upon guest arrivals at the Hotel.
• Delivers fax, mail, email and messages as instructed.
• Controls taxis request towards service outlets as and when requested.
• Checks with Reception if keys have been returned and guest account settled before guests’ departure.
Luggage Handling
• Unload guest’s luggage from vehicle and fills-in and attaches luggage tags for identification.
• Delivers luggage to guest’s room and collects guest’s luggage from his room on departure.
• Keeps record and is responsible for all luggage and other item kept in luggage room or luggage store.
• Help carry luggage during guests stay and room change.
Materials and Equipment Handling
• Keeps luggage trolley in good running condition.
• Cleans and sweeps the lobby area and luggage room to ensure cleanliness and tidiness at all times.
• Performs the deep cleaning of luggage room and front office area when requested.
Customer Service
• Actively participates in the provision of excellent service to guests.
• Cordially welcomes guests on their arrivals and opens car doors.
• Converses with guests to obtain feedback and suggestions for improvement.
• Guides guests towards service outlets as and when requested.
• Answers telephone calls in Front Office area when requested.
• Handles customer complaints efficiently through appropriate interaction and/or referral to Head Porter.
Logbook Updating
• Updates the daily attendance book to control punctuality, absenteeism, overtime and casual labour, in order to make sure that his/her IN and OUT duty time have been recorded.
• Updates the daily logbooks for recording events with the Porter section and review them with the Head Porter to correct any arising operational problem.
