Mont Choisy Group is a leading real estate developer in the North. Strategically located in Grand Bay, the Group has major projects under development as part of the Mont Choisy Smart City.

 

Primary Purpose:

The Payroll and Accounts Officer will be responsible for processing payroll, remitting payroll taxes and government reporting as well as preparing monthly, quarterly and year-end payroll statements. The incumbent will ensure compliance with government regulations, establishing, implementing policies, tracking and managing our company’s payroll data. ,track employee work hours, prepare checks, calculate bonuses, allowances and respond to employee questions about wages and deductions.

Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing:

  • Processing and verifying payroll transactions, in compliance with the WRA Act and employment conditions framework while working closely with the HR department
  • Ensuring all payroll transactions are processed efficiently
  • Collecting, calculating, and entering data in order to maintain and update payroll information
  • Resolving payroll discrepancies
  • Ensuring that employee pay is calculated and paid out accurately
  • Dealing with payroll queries from employees
  • Processing data entries after verifying documents
  • Assist Management in the preparation of yearly & ad hoc payroll budgets
  • Assist management in day-to-day administrative tasks
  • Providing accounting and administrative support to other departments and assist in any ad hoc projects assigned from time to time
  • Maintaining confidentiality of employee`s information
  • Maintaining payroll operations by following policies and procedures
  • Developing ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
  • Create and maintain up-to-date records
  • Processing of payments of Employee and Employer contributions
  • Ensuring pension payments are made
  • Review payroll posting on Accounting package
  • Preparation of yearly Statement of Emoluments and any other statutory returns/ documents related to payroll

 

Any other assignments as may be delegated.

 

Skills and Competences:

  • Hands-on experience with HRIS and accounting software
  • Strong math skills with an ability to spot numerical errors
  • Good knowledge of labour legislation
  • Time-management skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Attention to details & quality focused oriented
  • Fluent in English and French, both written and spoken
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Proficient in MS Office applications

 

 

 

 

 

 

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, human resources, or a similar field.

Relevant Experience: 

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll management.
