The Lux Collective is hiring for the position of PURCHASING MANAGER based at SALT of palmar, Mauritius.
The incumbent will be responsible to:
- Know how to evaluate market conditions and different suppliers.
- Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers.
- Negotiate effectively and maintain profitable relationships with service providers and suppliers.
- Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.
- Supervise and conduct regular stock checks and inventory controls as well as organise for replenishment so as to ensure that materials and supplies are available at all times.
- Actively participate in the reception and stocking of materials and supplies.
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
- Ensure the proper maintenance of the store section and ensure that the storage of materials and supplies comply with the Health & Safety regulations.
- Maintain an awareness of all product knowledge information such as the purpose and handling of equipment and accessories used in the resort.
Qualifications
- At least High School Certificate or equivalent qualifications.
- Tertiary education at Advanced Diploma level or Degree level majoring in Business Administration or Logistics or Accounting related fields from a recognised institution or equivalent qualifications.
Previous Performance
- A minimum of 10 years of working experience in a Retail or Purchasing department preferably in the hospitality industry.
- A minimum of 2 years of working experience in a similar position.
