Our client in the agricultural sector is seeking to recruit a dynamic Operations & Sales Officer who will report to the Business Development Manager.

 

The Operations & Sales Officer provides clerical support for the harvest and post-harvest operations, and assistance to the sales department of the company.

Responsibilities:

Harvest Operations at field level:
  • Contact and prepare list of clients for harvest plan on a daily basis.
  • Follow up of clients at field levels.
  • Monitor harvest operations as per planning in terms of quantity and quality of produce.
  • Monitor the stock of leno bags in and out of fields.
  • Follow up of weighing operations.
  • Ensure that harvest operations are conducted as per established procedure.

Post-Harvest Operations in packhouse:
  • Monitor stock of produce reaching the packhouse.
  • Contact and prepare list of clients for sales plan.
  • Assist in the planning of labour force for post-harvest activities.
  • Ensure that grading, sorting, packing and storage are done as per instructions.
  • Ensure good housekeeping in the packhouse.
  • Monitoring of weighing operations of processed produce.

Sales Operations:
  • Receive clients and maintain the highest level of customer relations.
  • Process invoices for the sales of fruits and vegetables.
  • Collect payments from buyers.
  • Reconciliation of proceeds at defined interval.
  • Ensure safe custody of proceeds.
  • Remittance of proceeds to Accounting Personnel.
  • Maintain proper records of all transactions.
  • Ensure full confidentiality during all operations.
 
Profile:
  • A Cambridge Higher School Certificate.
  • At least 4 years of experience the commercial /sales environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
  • The ideal candidate should reside in the Southern or Upper Plaine Wilhems Region.
