The Nursery field supervisor is a responsible for overseeing all the operations of a nursery, including supervising people, meeting projections and ensuring quality. The person should have care for the plants and nurtures shrubs and trees in a plant nursery.
- Supervising employees by creating work schedules, setting priorities, and ensuring that projects are completed on time.
- Supervising the day-to-day operations of the nursery, including watering plants, fertilizing them, and monitoring insect and disease infestation
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the nursery to ensure that it runs efficiently and profitably.
- Preparing budgets and managing financial records related to the operation of the nursery.
- Conducting research to identify new plant varieties that are best suited for specific environments.
- Controlling the inventory of plants and supplies to ensure that there is enough stock to meet demand.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure a steady supply of plants and supplies.
- Arrange transportation to/from site and offices.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets all specifications.
- Respond to customer inquiries and complaints in a prompt and professional manner.
- Keep up to date with industry trends and developments.
- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of all projects, including costs, materials used, and man-hours worked.
- Prepare regular reports for upper management.
- Conduct site visits to assess ongoing work and identify any potential problems.
- Liaise with other departments, such as office administration, designers, irrigation and maintenance, to ensure smooth operations.
- Responsible for the tools and equipments as assigned by the company.
- Any other cognate duties as assigned.
