The Messenger/Driver is responsible to execute all the day-to-day activities/tasks of the unit.

 

The Messenger/Driver is responsible to execute all the day-to-day activities/tasks of the unit. His/her role is to arrange incoming and outgoing mails, and ensure prompt delivery to the intended recipients, franking processes, postal processes, DHL processes and staff/equipment transportation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The key responsibilities shall include but not limited to the following:

  • Collection and delivery of mail dispatch and other materials as required from and to the internal department and other institutions.
  • Utilizing sorting machines and similar administrative technology.
  • Ensuring that the recipient sign all relevant documentation upon delivery.
  • Keeping inventory of mailing supplies such as envelopes and stamps.
  • Assist in movement of items like boxes, PC, Cupboards from one dept to another or as instructed.
  • Drive company vehicles carefully in a safe and responsible manner with proper follow up on maintenance and care
  • Maintain the company vehicle in a clean, operating condition and follow established processes, maintenance schedule and planning.
  • Safely and timely drive Bank’s staff to attend meetings outside office.
  • Drive within speed limit and respect traffic codes/signs, listen to traffic and weather reports to stay up-to-date on road condition.
  • To work in close collaboration with colleagues and team.
  • Ensure that all tasks assigned are attended timely.
  • Should be able to maintain a proper decorum at office, during driving chores and while dealing with customers/colleagues.
  • Day to day reporting to the assigned reporting line in a regular and timely manner
  • Should be able to maintain confidentiality at all times and in all tasks conducted at the Bank
  • Other cognate duties as and when required

PREREQUISITES:

  • Candidate should have minimum a School Certificate
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in similar position.
  • Valid driving license (Private car + 4x4 + Van 2.5 Tons)
  • A clean driving record.
  • Ability to follow instructions with minimum supervision.
  • Should have a good eye vision.
  • Availability to occasionally take weekend and night shifts.

SKILLS:

  • Punctuality and availability
  • Might be required to work outdoors and attending different offices
  • Team player with good working attitude.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Good communication skills
  • Should be computer literate to use Bank systems as may be required
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy packages.
