Marketing, Fundraising, Communications & Sponsorship Coordinator

He/She will assist the Fundraising Manager in the operation of the Department. He/She will form part of the fundraising team and work in close collaboration with other key staff for the effective planning and implementation of the fundraising, marketing, communications and sponsorship strategy.

 

Fundraising

  • Participate in the formulation of fundraising strategies and plans for individual donation according to set targets and budget
  • Work in team for the implementation of Marketing, Fundraising, Communications & Sponsorship strategies, plans and programme
  • Assist in the planning and organisation of yearly fundraising activities
  • Draft fundraising and sponsorship proposals for potential individual donors and sponsors
  • Follow up implementation and reporting for funds received
  • Keep up to date and accurate records of data, information, database, files and other documentation in order and  ensure timely reporting to donors and other stakeholders
  • Implement donor nurturing
  • Support facilities in the organisation of fundraising activities

 

Marketing & Communications

  • Visit prospective donors and deliver presentations to raise awareness about the organisation
  •  Support facilities in the organisation of events (e.g., open days, fairs etc.)
  • Organise activities/ events for branding and awareness
  • Draft articles and other communications (e.g., letters, appeals etc.) and assist in working with media agencies
  • Plan and organise visits/guided tours of the villages and other SOS programmes for sponsors and donors
  • Participate in the design and implementation of volunteering programmes

 

International Sponsorship

  • Be familiar with International Sponsorship and be able to backup processes which are in place for the effective compliance with the International Sponsorship Manual (e.g., facility and quality progress reports)
  • Assist in the monitoring of the preparation of projects for money gifts and disbursement of money in accordance with the guidelines
  • Assist and support the implementation of International Sponsorship requirements

 

Finance

  • Ensure the proper keeping of records for accountability regarding sponsorship and fundraising information
  • Meet accounting and auditing requirements relating to the department
 
Qualifications and experience
  • Ideally a degree in marketing or acceptable alternative qualifications
  • Work experience and/ or exposure to the sales/marketing and advertising/printing environment
  • Work experience in an NGO would be an advantage
  • Wide network of business and corporate contacts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, internet and Microsoft Outlook
