Job Responsibilities:
- Guest Relations: Providing exceptional customer service, handling inquiries, and resolving guest issues.
- Reservations and Check-in/Check-out Procedures: Mastering the hotel's reservation system and ensuring smooth and efficient guest arrivals and departures.
- Concierge Services: Assisting guests with local information, travel arrangements, and other requests.
- Front Desk Operations: Managing daily front desk activities, including cash handling, telephone operations, and communication with other departments.
- Night Audit: Learning the processes of balancing accounts and preparing reports.
- Team Leadership and Supervision (Progressive Exposure): Assisting in the training and supervision of front office staff.
- Revenue Management: Understanding basic revenue management principles and contributing to maximizing occupancy and revenue.
- Hotel Software and Systems: Becoming proficient in the hotel's Property Management System (PMS) and other relevant software.
Candidate Profile:
- A recent graduate with a degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A strong customer service orientation and a passion for exceeding guest expectations.
- A proactive and enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to learn.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Able and willing to perform odd hours of work including Sundays, public holidays and cyclonic days;
- Fluent in written and spoken English and French;
- Knowledge of a third language will be a definite advantage.
