Laboratory Coordinator

Reporting to the Head of Section, the selected candidate will oversee sample dispatch, data management, test result monitoring, and documentation while coordinating with departments to ensure efficient lab operations.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Oversee the dispatch of outsourced tests and ensure proper handling.
  • Manage uploading of outsourced tests and cross-check outsourced test results on the Hospital Information System (HIS).
  • Compile and maintain the cancer patient list and update the Critical Log with critical results.
  • Monitor and update the TAT monitoring log for tests and results.
  • Coordinate sample distribution from collection centers and ensure timely receipt from IPD, OPD, and EMG.
  • Supervise the filing, packing, labelling, and management of slides, blocks, and related documentation.
  • Prepare TRF for outsourcing and finalise biopsy test results.
  • Compile viral epidemiology data and supervise block scraping as per technician guidelines.
  • Oversee all administrative tasks for specialised labs

What are we looking for?

  • Higher School Certificate with a preference for science subjects.
  • A Professional Certificate in Laboratory Techniques is desired.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a similar field.
  • Proficiency in using computers to enter information.
  • Familiarity with infection control policies and procedures.
  • Patience and presence of mind.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Effective time management.
