The Lab Technologist IT ensures that the IT tools and equipment in the Lab are well maintained, kept safely and are utilised adequately during practical sessions.

Contractual basis for two years, may be considered for permanent and pensionable establishment upon satisfactory completion of contractual employment
Salary:
Rs 25,000 – Rs 35,000
(Negotiable on the basis of experience and qualifications)
Qualifications:
Diploma in IT or an alternative equivalent qualification acceptable to the Board.
Experience
At least 6 months of experience in Computer Laboratory work
Knowledge and Skills:
Candidates should –
Candidates should produce written evidence of experience/knowledge claimed.
Duties.
Reporting to the Programme Leader IT or any delegated officer, your duties will, inter alia, be and not restricted to;
i. Support computer lab operations.
ii. Support faculty and students to use computer software and hardware.
iii. Extend appropriate procedures, respond to queries and document resolution of repetitive issues.
iv. Present on software packages and applications and develop lab templates.
v. Respond to queries and introduce students to use of computers and peripheral equipment.
vi. Develop records of students involving in computerized instructional support.
vii. Manage laboratory software, test materials and hardware to ensure security.
viii. Handle lab equipment to clean keyboards, monitors and disk drives.
ix. Watch lab occupants while entering and leaving lab the secure equipment.
x. Ensure proper treatment and authorized removal of equipment.
xi. Log equipment damage and malfunctions.
xii. Capture statistical reporting information.
xiii. Offer access to reference manuals and other information to users.
xiv. Extend assistance towards computers and printers’ support.
xv. Clean, review and handle minor equipment maintenance to assure its operational condition.
3. To use ICT in the performance of his duties.
4. To perform such other duties directly related to the main duties listed above or related to the delivery of the output and results expected from the Laboratory Technologist ( IT) in the roles ascribed to him/her.
NOTE
The Laboratory Technologist ( IT) may be required to work outside normal working hours, including Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays
