Lab Assistant
Reporting to the Quality and Lab Coordinator, the Logistics and Lab Assistant will be responsible to do analysis of feeds produced and main raw materials received to make sure they are conform to set standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Visual Inspection and Near Infrared (NIR) analysis of main raw material and Finished product (maize, soyabean meal & wheat bran) as per production planning
- Analysis (Moisture in oven, Ash in furnace, Moisture analyser and NIR) of Proficiency testing samples
Analysis of molasses
Analysis of new batch of maize and soyabean meal on reception every 3 months (Moisture in oven, Ash in oven, Moisture analyser, Aflacheck, foreign bodies inspection and NIR)
Analysis of complaint samples as per requested
Microbiological Analysis for LFL Pailles and Riche-Terre
Sampling of feed from store finished products on request
Microscopic exam of raw material samples
Proper arrangement of samples
Good Housekeeping
Discarding of samples after shelf-life
Cleaning and washing of containers for sample retention
Cleaning and disinfection of containers for microscopic examCleaning and washing of containers for sampling in RM store and storage in sample library
To communicate any non-conformity detected upon analysis
- Holder of an HSC or Diploma
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Detail-conscious with planning, organizational and time management skills
- Can Do attitude
- Experience in a similar post is an advantage
- Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft tools
