The IT Officer will be responsible for the smooth planning, running, and maintenance of our internal IT systems, networks and assets.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
- Manage network infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity, security, and optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network and system issues, including server malfunctions, connectivity problems, and software bugs.
- Implement and maintain security policies, procedures, and systems to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyberattacks.
- Regularly monitor IT systems for vulnerabilities and apply patches or updates to mitigate risks.
- Manage firewalls, antivirus software, and encryption tools to ensure data security.
- Provide technical support to end-users, offering assistance with hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Manage a helpdesk system for logging and tracking support requests.
- Train employees on the proper use of IT systems and software applications.
- Collaborate with senior management to plan and implement long-term IT strategies that align with business goals.
- Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and cost-saving through technology.
- Ensure the monthly IT Report are delivered in a timely manner.
Requirements and skills
- HSC and/or Holder of a Diploma, Degree or Certificate in any related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the role.
- IT knowledge: High Computer Literacy of Microsoft Office products (word; excel; power point; outlook)
- Detail-oriented and demonstrates a ‘can-do’ attitude.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Friendly, supportive demeanor
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 administration and management (SharePoint, Email, Users, etc.). A certification would be an advantage
- Endpoint management
