The IT Officer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and support of the organization's IT systems, networks, and related infrastructure.

Main Duties & Responsibilities (Non-Exhaustive)
- Network Management:
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software.
- Monitor network performance to ensure availability and reliability.
- Manage network security and access controls.
- System Administration:
- Maintain and support servers, including email servers, file servers, and databases.
- Perform regular system updates and backups.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Technical Support:
- Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
- Respond to and resolve helpdesk tickets in a timely manner.
- Train staff on new technologies and software applications.
- Security Management:
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Perform and participate in regular security audits and assessments.
- Software and Hardware Management:
- Install, configure, and maintain software applications and hardware.
- Evaluate and recommend new hardware and software solutions.
- Manage inventory of IT assets and licenses.
- Project Management:
- Participate in planning and execute IT projects, including system upgrades and new technology implementations.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and fulfill their IT needs.
- Ensure projects are completed within scope, time, and budget.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets, configurations, and procedures.
- Prepare reports on IT system performance, security incidents, and project progress.
- Develop and update IT policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Higher School Certificate with studies in Computer Science, or equivalent qualifications with relevant certifications.
- Proven experience as an IT Officer.
- Proven strong knowledge of network and system administration.
- Experience with various operating systems and platforms (Windows, Linux, Mac OS).
- Experience with database management and network security.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft) are a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with ITIL framework, ISO9001/27001 and/or other standards/best practices.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
Working Conditions:
The IT Officer typically works in an office environment but will need to travel to various sites to provide on-site support.
The role may require working outside of regular office hours to address urgent issues or complete projects.
