Our client is seeking to recruit a Health Care Assistant who will support healthcare professionals in providing high-quality patient care. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, monitoring patient health, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients.
The Health Care Assistant will work closely with nursing staff and other healthcare providers to deliver compassionate and efficient care to patients in a variety of healthcare settings.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor patients' vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, and report any changes to the nursing staff.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Support nursing staff during medical procedures and examinations.
- Prepare patients for treatments and ensure they are comfortable before, during, and after procedures.
- Follow infection control protocols and ensure a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Assist in maintaining hygiene standards by cleaning and disinfecting patient areas, equipment, and bedding.
- Ensure that all patient care activities are carried out in compliance with healthcare regulations and safety guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of patient care, including documentation of observations, activities, and any incidents.
- Report any concerns regarding patient health, safety, or well-being to the supervising nurse promptly.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuing education programs as required.
Profiles:
- Certification as a Health Care Assistant or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a similar role.
- Experience working with specific patient groups (e.g., elderly, disabled, or those with chronic conditions) is preferred.
