Our client is seeking to recruit a Head of Business who will report to the CEO. The incumbent will assist the CEO with the day to day running of the company and with the provision of Advisory Services, as well as the learning, membership and advocacy strategy setting as well as its execution.
Responsibilities:
Learning and Advocacy:
- Develop a full range of programmes for directors and ensure strong participation and take up of such courses.
Membership:
- Work with the membership team, the CEO and the Board, the role holder needs to devise ways to improve the membership offering, grow the membership base and increase loyalty and satisfaction.
- Assist the CEO with the day to day running of the company, including but not limited to the preparation of board papers, strategy discussions, the running of conferences, new policies and activities.
- Keep abreast of major changes to corporate governance legislation and best practice (including attendance at conferences), and where appropriate ensure that these are adopted by the company.
- Lead by example with a self starter mindset, provide necessary guidance and adopt a positive attitude to the benefit of the company.
- Any other areas as requested by management.
Profile:
- A relevant degree from a recognised university/ ISCSA.
- A master's degree in relevant field or a professional qualification/ Chartered Secretary.
- Substantial experience in the field of risk advisory and /or corporate governance and /or education and training, with a proven track record of successful leadership.
- At least 10 years' experience in a managerial or administrative or business operations role.
- A track record of delivering corporate governance related projects or reviews that meets or exceeds expectations, offers real insight to clients on their business and adds real value to business performance.
- Fluent English and French language (spoken and written).
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Strong networking skills to build and maintain relationships.
- Knowledge of budgeting and financial management.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with staff, and external stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
