Head Chef – Bakery, Pastry & Hot & Cold Kitchen Production

The Head Chef will lead the production team in managing the bakery, pastry, and both hot and cold kitchen operations. The role is focused on ensuring quality, consistency, and efficiency across all culinary operations, developing innovative menus, managing inventory, and overseeing kitchen staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and innovate seasonal menus for bakery, pastry, and hot and cold sections, ensuring alignment with brand standards and customer preferences.
  • Collaborate on new product development and trials for menu updates and special projects.
  • Plan and coordinate daily production schedules for bakery, pastry, and hot/cold kitchen sections, ensuring efficiency, timely execution and minimising wastage.
  • Supervise and ensure quality control for all finished products, maintaining presentation, and consistency.
  • Put in place Standard Operating Procedure and monitor kitchen operations to ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Lead and mentor a team of chefs, cooks, bakers, and pastry chefs, fostering skill development and maintaining a productive work environment.
  • Conduct training sessions on best practices, new recipes, and techniques to enhance team performance and skill levels.
  • Develop and monitor budgets, control food costs, and implement measures to reduce expenses without compromising quality.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to procure high-quality ingredients at competitive rates, ensuring timely and reliable supply.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar role in a production kitchen environment, with specific expertise in bakery, pastry, and hot/cold kitchen operations.
  • Leadership and communication skills with the ability to train and develop kitchen staff.
  • Creative culinary skills with a commitment to high-quality production.
