We are seeking a talented and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team at our gourmet food store. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in gourmet cuisine, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to high-quality food preparation and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Menu Development:
- Create and innovate seasonal menus that highlight gourmet ingredients and reflect current food trends.
- Ensure all recipes are executed to the highest standards of taste and presentation.
Kitchen and Butchery Management:
- Oversee daily kitchen/butchery operations, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and adherence to food safety regulations.
- Manage inventory, including ordering and sourcing high-quality ingredients.
Team Leadership:
- Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive team environment.
- Schedule shifts and manage staffing levels to meet business needs.
Quality Control:
- Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
- Conduct regular taste tests and food quality assessments.
Customer Engagement:
- Interact with customers to share knowledge about menu items and promote gourmet offerings.
- Incorporate customer feedback into menu adjustments and improvements.
Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience in a professional kitchen.
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role, preferably in a gourmet or specialty food setting.
- Strong knowledge of gourmet cuisine and cooking techniques.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
