We are looking for an HR, Senior Manager who will report into Managing Director for the Mauritius office. In order to deliver the regional responsibilities, the candidate will work closely with the regional business management team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that support our business objectives, fostering alignment between management and employees.
  • Manage and develop a team of HR professionals, with one sitting outside Mauritius, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the team's success.
  • Bridge management and employee relations by nurturing a positive working environment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee information in HR systems, providing advice to our team on all areas relating to the employment life cycle.
  • Ensure timely completion of the payroll process in collaboration with Finance. Ensure accurate and timely delivery of payslip.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the HR function by staying updated on relevant HR laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Lead the managing, planning and reviewing of HR policies and processes relating to recruitment, selection, retention, employee development and performance management.
  • Deliver key HR processes (performance management, annual review, succession planning) to drive business success.
  • Support change, communicate change internally and gain trust of employees.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership and key stakeholders, by being proactive in highlighting risks / liabilities and provide ideas / insights / expertise around HR topics and general employee lifecycle trends.
  • Provide expert advice and coaching to managers to help them achieve their people objectives and initiate actions to motivate and engage people.
  • Develop and implement the annual employee engagement plan, including tailored training or coaching depending on business needs.
  • Manage employee relations concerns, and complaints, ensuring adherence to applicable Company policy and local laws and regulations.
  • Build multi-functional relationships across the region, creating an environment where HR best practices, information and resources are shared in pursuit of business goals.
  • Work with the regional business management team and a dedicated Trident Trust Group team on learning management, and specifically a needs assessment and the roll out of LinkedIn learning as a key learning management tool.
  • Work with the regional business management team oversee and supervise the administration and custodianship of the regional HRIS system (BambooHR).

 

Required Experience

  • At least 10 years’ experience in Human Resources with 3 years at Senior Management level.
  • A university degree ideally in Human Resource Management or a related business discipline.
  • Demonstrated success in managing HR functions, policy implementation and strategic planning.
  • Usage and experience with BambooHR or a similar HR tool is preferred.
  • Usage and experience with LinkedIn learning or a similar LMS tool is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using technology to streamline HR processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Experience in the fiduciary/professional services/financial services environment, would be a plus.

 

Key Skills

  • In depth knowledge of Mauritian Labour Laws and procedures.
  • Excellent communications skills (verbal and written) with the ability to deliver effective oral and written presentations.
  • Capacity to work in a complex environment.
  • Strong analytical, data interpretation, negotiation and problem-solving skills to judge solutions to challenges correctly.
  • Strong organisational skills, including planning and time management to enable effective prioritisation of multiple activities.
  • Ability to coordinate the efforts of several individuals and/or teams, cross border and to work with different cultures/personalities.
  • Effective staff leadership, development, and management skills.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft office suite of applications.
Compensation

Compensation will be based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience and overall suitability for the position.
