To create and implement health and safety policies in accordance with the latest legislation and to ensure that these policies are implemented by management and employees.
- Health and safety issue management

- Undertaking regular inspections and risk assessments.
- Ensuring that any hazards or defects are rectified immediately.
- Keep an accident book and must record and thoroughly investigate any accident, recommending any improvements in safety standards if required.
- Training all staff in safety issues.
- Advising them on protective clothing and equipment where necessary.
- Act as a key point of contact for any member of staff who has a query or concern regarding the safety of the workplace.
- The health and safety officer works very closely with management, as well as health and safety inspectors.
- Depending on the nature of the business, the health and safety officer’s duties could involve safeguarding machinery, fire safety, occupational health, noise, control of hazardous substances, manual handling, working with display screen equipment, and environmental health
- Contributes to the morale and team spirit of the hotel by maintaining effective relationships with hotel colleagues.
- Performs any additional duties as directed by the HR & Learning Manager.and recommendations to the Training Manager.
- Train associates on rules & regulations as per OSHA.
- Ensure that all activities are carried out honestly, ethically and within the parameters of local Law.
- Attends meetings and training as required by the Human Resources & Learning Manager.
- Is polite and professional in any situation where the image or reputation of the hotel is represented.
- Maintains a high standard of personal hygiene, dress, uniform and body language.
- Is fully conversant with all health and safety, fire and emergency procedures.
- Stays current with developments in the field of Training, and makes appropriate suggestions
