Our client is recruiting a Financial Manager

Key Responsibilities

The main purpose of the role is to manage and coordinate all financial and administration activities of the entity. The scope encompasses the production and analysis of management accounts, capturing of budgets, facilitation of internal & external audits, as well as ensuring compliance with local tax and reporting legislation. The primary purpose of the Financial Manager is to manage the financial/administration of the company in line with the company Standards of Excellence and SOP’s 

  • Report to the General Manager of the entity as well as the group General Manager of Finance.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts using the accounting software and analyzing key operating expense metrics.
  • Assist with external and internal auditors and other administrative enquiries.
  • Review of General Ledger and rectification of any posting inaccuracies
  • Administration and preparation of payroll using a dedicated payroll software.
  • Preparation and submission of all tax declarations to the Revenue authority.
  • Oversight and approval of authorized payments on internet banking platform.
  • Engaging with the banks on statutory requirements and user access.
  • Assistance with budgeting and cash flow forecasting.
  • Fraud Risk Management.

 Key Responsibilities 

  • Processing and maintaining the FAR using the appropriate software (SAGE Evolution).
  • Create and maintain relationships with business stakeholders such as suppliers, agents, government institutions etc.
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assistance with all licensing requirements for the entity.
  • Ad hoc tasks as assigned by Management.
  • Active participation in and effective communication and support of company's conservation message and purpose.
  • All roles at the company may be required to perform other tasks as reasonably requested from time to time and as required by the business and/or operation. Company fosters a culture of collaboration, and with this support of the multi-skilling of staff.

Skills & Experience 

  • Tertiary Financial Qualification
  • 8 - 10 Years of experience in a similar role (preferably from a hospitality background)
  • Proficient in SAGE Evolution, Pastel Partner, VIP Payroll software.
  • No criminal record.
  • A good understanding of general accounting principles.
  • Accurate work ethic with strong attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with internet banking platforms (MCB and ABSA).
  • Analytical and strategic thinking skills. Interpret data, identify trends and make informed recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills (written & verbal) in English.
  • Proficient in Corporate income tax, VAT and PAYE regulations, submissions, and calculations.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with a proven track record.
  • Strong interpersonal skills (demonstrating a high degree of emotional intelligence).
  • Passion for the industry and conservation.
