As a Fish Controller, you will manage the seafood section of our store. You will order, stock, and sell seafood, ensuring freshness and good presentation. You will also provide advice to customers on seafood selection and preparation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Order seafood products based on demand and availability.

  • Receive and inspect seafood deliveries to ensure quality and freshness.

  • Stock and display seafood products in an appealing and hygienic manner.

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to minimise waste and ensure availability.

  • Provide knowledgeable and friendly customer service, including answering questions and offering recommendations

  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including proper storage and disposal of seafood waste.

  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling and storage of seafood products.

  • Collaborate with other departments to promote seafood products and create cross-selling opportunities.

  • Train and supervise seafood department staff, including scheduling and performance management.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in seafood handling or retail management preferred.

  • Knowledge of seafood varieties, cuts, and preparation methods.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lift heavy objects.

  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings weekends, and holidays.

  • Additional training or certification in seafood handling or food safety is a plus.

  • Valid food-handlers certificate

  • Valid certificate of character
