Seeking an F&B Captain! Lead service, uphold hygiene & safety standards, and deliver top-tier dining experiences for our client's guests.
Purpose:
Provide five-star dining experiences to guests. Supervises Food & Beverage service and assist in service as per outlet and room service standards. Ensures HACCP, Hygiene, EHS standards, are adhered to and protect profitability of AFOCH.
Main Duties:
- Reports on duty as per schedule in full uniform.
- Follows the Club Policies & Procedures.
- Strictly follows Personal grooming & hygiene standards of self and others.
- Makes guests feel welcome in the outlet.
- Takes Food & Beverage orders as per standards and practices enthusiastic hospitality and salesmanship.
- Participates, directs and supervises services to the guest.
- Prepare appropriate work plan on daily basis.
- Checklists are completed on a daily basis.
- Briefs staff before each meal period.
- Assures that all orders are served correctly.
- Interact and communicate with guests about their meal and service.
- Emphasize sequence of service in the restaurant.
- Controls timing of staff in their tasks.
- Keeps control of Bills handled by the Waiters.
- Waiters to be monitored for service standard and cash handling.
- Farewell greeting at the guest departure.
- Follows all kitchen regulation as outlined and directed.
- Follows the “Clean as you go policy” and keeps work area clean at all times.
- Handles any guest complaints or comments in the absence of the Restaurant.
- Manager and informs the same to the Asst. F & B Manager.
- Requisitions are made and stock collected for optimum cost and smooth operation.
- Promotes and maintains good relationships between kitchen and restaurant staff.
- Expiry management is monitored for food and beverage stock.
- Take all reasonable measures not to handle food or food contact surfaces in any way that is likely to compromise the safety and suitability of the food.
- Daily and periodical cleaning of equipment's, furniture's & fixtures are monitored.
- Maintenance requests are made and followed up for breakdown of furniture's, fixtures and other equipment's.
- Periodical maintenance of equipment's and facilities are followed up.
- Prepare appropriate work plan on daily basis.
- Attends briefings, meetings and trainings as per schedules.
- Informs staff and follows up of banquet and other outlet duties and training schedules.
- Cascade all relevant information's to the service brigade.
- Notifies the Manager of any problems, as and when they arise.
- Ensures proper hand over to the next shift and logs information's in detail.
- Handles opening/closing checklist and makes sure that appropriate actions are taken in order to have checklists maintained.
- Performs related duties that may be assigned from time to time.
- To carry out any other reasonable and lawful request directed by the Management.
Common Responsibilities:- To maintain and ensure confidentiality at all times.
- To represent the Company in a positive and professional manner.
- To adhere to the Company's Rules, Regulations, Procedures and Policies at all times.
- To ensure compliance with the IMS requirements, and ISO 19001:2015 “Quality management systems”, 14001:2015 “Environmental management systems”, and 45001:2018 “Occupational health and safety management systems” codes of practice.
- To ensure compliance with local legislations and statutory EH&S codes of practice.
- To conduct routine inspection of the area and ensure that all work area plant and equipment are safe to operate.
- To ensure that staff wear the mandatory personal protective equipment and are adequately trained to carry out safe work practices and are fully aware of emergency and evacuation procedures.
Working hours:- As per UAE Labor Law and depending on operational requirements
Qualifications:- High School or equivalent. GED or Vocational education
- Hospitality Education or Internship in Hotel
- Food Hygiene – BASIC, HACCP Awareness – BASIC Food safety and food hygiene specified by the standards/legislation
- WSET Level 1 or 2
Experience:- Minimum one-year experience in the same or similar role
- 5-star hotel operation or high-volume stand-alone outlets
- 3 or more years of experience
- UAE or GCC Experience
Skills:- English - clear communication skills, written and verbal
- Additional Language, preferably Arabic
- Good customer service, solid product knowledge of food and beverage, selling techniques
