Summary
Are you ready to play a pivotal role in the digital transformation of machine data? As a Data Engineer, you'll spearhead the foundation of our data digitalization journey. You'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data networks across multiple sites and organizations of BIA. Your expertise will ensure seamless system integration, feeding our Smart Fleet DX Suite with high-integrity data.

What will be your responsibilities?

MUST HAVE
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable big data architectures and pipelines to process vast amounts of structured and unstructured data.
  • Design & develop dashboards using BI applications.
  • Optimize and fine-tune big data systems for better performance and reliability.
  • Implement real-time data processing systems as needed.
  • Monitor and test server performance and troubleshoot as required to ensure data transmission continuity.
  • Create and maintain documentation relating to internal system configuration, processes, mapping, and service records.
  • Develop and update policies, procedures and relevant training plans for system administration, utilization, and recovery plans.
  • Maintain existing & promote new models of equipment, hardware and software upgrades, and interact with suppliers for product specifications or services.
  • Verification of data being integrated from various telematics devices.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in big data and continuously improve systems and processes.


GOOD TO HAVE
  • Design and deploy specific networks, including recommendation and setup of servers, routers, telematics devices & sensors among others, to secure data transmission to SmartFleetDX.
  • Assist with most suitable communication methods, required networks and systems to match data collection needs – networks such as:
  • - API / FTP / SFTP data integration
  • - LAN, Wi-Fi, Cellular 3G/4G, KPAR, LTE
  • - Satellite connection
  • - IoT and private networks such as SIGFOX,LoRa…
  • - Self-healing networks such as Nexis
  • Assess and recommend hardware required for data collection, including devices from OEM and 3rd party suppliers, re to data collection methods:
  • - Machine data via OEM telematics (machine operations, production, maintenance), real time positioning, smart sensors, safety systems, operator interface…
  • - Guidance Hardware using 2D, 3D technologies
  • - Site surveying using drones, scanners, and other surveying services
  • Ensure hardware configuration is approved by local authorities and homologated on specific territories.
  • Configure networks to ensure their reliability in fulfilling business objectives and processes.
  • Design and implement server access, firewalls and ensure secure data transmission within BIA and other organizations.
  • Keep up to date with developments in networking industry, such as products, services, protocols and standards.

Who are we looking for?
MUST HAVE
  • BSc in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 2-3 years of working experience
  • Experience working with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Strong knowledge of database management
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python & SQL
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such PowerBI or similar
  • Analytical thinking, Initiative & Proactivity, Result oriented


GOOD TO HAVE
  • Network+ and CWNA would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of network hardware, protocols, and standards
  • Sound knowledge of network best practices and technology
