Our client in the SME digital financing sector is seeking to recruit a Credit Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Review/Oversee credit paper preparation by other Credit Analysts.
- Ensure that all credit papers are well documented before being sent to the Head of Credit for review.
- Site visit or interviews together with the Business Development, to understand borrower's loan request.
- Assist the Head of Credit in responding to queries of the Credit Committee members in a timely manner.
- Liaise with all stakeholders, including the Business Development Team throughout the whole credit process.
- Adhere to Credit SLA in place.
- Monitor conditions precedents and conditions subsequent. Escalate to Head of Credit for final decision/sign-off when conditions are not being met by borrowers.
- Assist the Head of Credit in preparation of Portfolio Analytics and other risk reports.
- Update MCIB on a weekly basis, with updated balances and comments.
- To meet with clients requesting for loan restructure to understand and establish the reasoning behind and ensure that all supporting documents have been provided before proceeding for restructuring.
- Assist in the development and implementation of credit rating models and management processes for SME borrowers to ensure a robust rating and pricing framework.
- To regularly monitor the performance of credit team members who has/have direct reporting.
- Assist in the development and implementation of a Credit Risk Management Policy and ensure timely update as and when required.
- Perform data management and maintenance required to support the needs, integrity and performance.
- Participate in special credit or risk related projects from time to time to help in achieving the company's strategic goals.
- Evaluating credit applications using the company's Credit Risk Management Framework which supplements traditional financial data with third party data.
- Demonstrate leadership through modelling it out in actions and thoughts.
- Coach and counsel the Credit team with a focus on improving credit policy, procedure and other related knowledge and skills.
- Play a leading role in setting expectation for ongoing credit policy management, effective and satisfactory periodic policy, and related documents review.
Profile:
- Proven experience as Credit Analyst / Manager / underwriting more than 5 years, with overall experience of at least 8 years.
- SME lending underwriting experience of at least 2 years preferred.
- Experience in mainly SME/Commercial/Corporate and/or Micro SME lending product.
- Ability to lead others in the team to complete tasks assigned.
- Ability to work with across functions within the company to execute plans/projects.
- Consistency, maturity and having sound judgement/decision making across work matters.
- Able to use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
- Able to work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
- Able to exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Significant contributor to team and overall growth of the company.
