Our client in the Insurance Sector is currently seeking to recruit a Compliance Specialist who will report to the Manager Compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Help to develop, maintain and revise policies and procedures for the general operation of the compliance program.
- Collaborate with other departments to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution.
- Consult with the Manager of the Compliance department to resolve difficult legal or compliance issues.
- Monitor, and as necessary coordinate compliance activities of other departments to remain abreast of the status of all legal regulatory activities.
- Provide reports on a regular basis, and as directed or required, keep the Manager of the department informed of the operation and progress of compliance efforts.
- Ensure proper reporting of violations or potential violations to the Manager of the department.
- Conduct random client file reviews to assess adherence to internal procedures, and issue relevant reports for the Manager.
- Assist the Manager in the monitoring of Anti Money Laundering requirements, answering queries and monitoring adherence to the company’s procedures.
- Assist with the maintenance and development of training for the staff.
- Perform any other cognate duties aligned to business requirements.
Profiles:
- University degree and/or professional qualification in Finance or Law or Management or any other related field.
- Have at least 3 years’ working experience in a similar position.
- Have an excellent command of English and French, both written and spoken.
- Have good interpersonal skills.
- Have good time management skills.
- Be an excellent team player.
- Be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Use discretion regarding confidential material and adhere to the code of ethics.
