Asmara Beach Restaurant, located at Pilote Road, Les Salines, Black River, is looking for a dynamic Chef de Parti Pastry to join its team!

 

Job Summary:
As a Chef de Partie Pastry, you will be responsible for overseeing and producing all pastry-related items in the kitchen. You will play a key role in ensuring the preparation and presentation of desserts, pastries, and baked goods meet the highest standards of quality and creativity. This position requires attention to detail, excellent culinary skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, bake, and decorate pastries, desserts, and bread products according to the restaurant’s standards and recipes.

  • Ensure all pastries and desserts are visually appealing, innovative, and made to the highest quality.

  • Assist in menu planning, creating new dessert ideas, and keeping up with pastry trends.

  • Supervise and train junior pastry staff, ensuring they follow procedures and maintain high standards.

  • Manage inventory for all pastry ingredients and ensure proper storage and organization.

  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the pastry section, following hygiene and safety regulations.

  • Monitor the quality and freshness of products to maintain consistency.

  • Assist in ordering supplies and ensure the kitchen is well-stocked with essential ingredients.

  • Collaborate with the rest of the kitchen team to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of orders.

  • Take part in the opening and closing procedures of the kitchen.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role, with expertise in pastry preparation and baking.

  • Knowledge of kitchen hygiene, safety standards, and food preparation techniques.

  • Creativity and passion for working with pastry and desserts.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and a high level of cleanliness and organization.

Education & Experience:

  • Culinary school or equivalent training in pastry arts is preferred.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a pastry kitchen or as a Chef de Partie in a high-end establishment.
