Responsibilities:

  • Prepare mise en place for the bar including glasses, alcoholic/nonalcoholic drinks, garnishes, equipment as per hotel’ standard
  • Ensure that the assigned bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed for Mixing beverages and serving guests
  • Maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages
  • Present drink menu, make specific recommendations and answer questions regarding beverages
  • Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
  • Up sells additional products and offer menu recommendations
  • Prepare garnishes for drinks and replenish snack
  • Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
  • Mix drinks, cocktails and other bar beverages as ordered and in compliance with hotel standard drink recipes.
  • Deliver drinks only upon receipt of micros docket for restaurants
  • Serving guest in a friendly and helpful manner.
  • Determine when a customer has had too much alcohol and if required refusing any further serving in a polite way.
  • Collect payment for drinks served and balance all receipts.
  • Handle guest billing as per hotel’s procedure

 Requirements:

  • School certificate minimum
  • NC4 Bar
  • Excellent knowledge of in mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
  • Beverage and Cocktail knowledge
  • Basic maths skills
  • Hands on experience with micros or cash register/ordering
  • Active listening and excellent Communication Skills (both written and verbal)
  • Extrovert and pleasant personality
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
