We are seeking a friendly, skilled, and customer-oriented Barista to join our team. The Barista will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee beverages, as well as providing excellent customer service.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, and other specialty drinks.
  • Attention to details while taking orders such as preferences of coffee blends, dairy and sugar ratios
  • Operate coffee machines and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to follow recipes
  • Provide exceptional customer service, engaging with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all areas meet health and safety standards.
  • Manage customer orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Process payments using a cash register or point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Serve beverages and prepared food such as toasties, paninis and pastries
  • Ability to make mocktails, smoothies and milkshakes
  • Ability to maintain hygiene and safety measures while operating brewing equipment
  • Ensure proper stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other necessary supplies.
  • Handle customer complaints or concerns with professionalism and resolve issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with other team members to maintain a smooth and efficient service flow.
  • Communicate customer feedback to line manager
  • Follow company policies and procedures, including those related to health, safety, and cleanliness.
  • Upsell menu items and promote seasonal or special offers to customers.
  • Keep up to date with new coffee trends and techniques.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a barista or in a customer service / hospitality industry role is preferred but not required.
  • Hands-on experience on brewing and making of coffee
  • Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques, espresso machines, and coffee-related equipment is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Friendly, positive attitude with a passion for coffee.
  • Basic math skills to handle cash and process payments.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy bags of coffee beans or supplies.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Valid or expired food handlers certificate
  • Minimum SC or HSC as educational qualifications

Working Conditions:

  • Fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Work in close proximity to food and beverages.
  • Possible exposure to loud noises and varying temperatures from equipment.
  • Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment, as well as independently.
