The Associate - Payment Acquiring is responsible for meticulously reviewing and assessing merchant and partner applications, ensuring adherence to KYC protocols, industry regulations, and internal policies.

 

Job Purpose:

The Associate - Payment Acquiring is responsible for meticulously reviewing and assessing merchant and partner applications, ensuring adherence to KYC protocols, industry regulations, and internal policies. He/She will conduct thorough due diligence, evaluating business models, corporate structures, and associated risks. The role extends to critical communication with merchants, conducting necessary background checks, and maintaining compliance records. Additionally, the selected candidate will play a pivotal role in enhancing our processes, contributing to the optimization of our payment ecosystem, and supporting the team in achieving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify KYC documents for new merchants and partners. Conduct various background checks using internal and external tools to ensure compliance with legislation, industry regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Apply risk management knowledge to determine merchant risk profiles. Conduct Enhanced Due Diligence as required based on risk level.
  • Effectively assess and manage merchant applications.
  • Communicate with merchants and control functions as necessary during the KYC process. Liaise with merchants to verify information and ensure timely delivery of applications.
  • Review and provide updates on sales ops activities for prospective merchants.
  • Conduct Merchant KYC remediation as required to maintain compliance.
  • Promote a positive attitude within the team and demonstrate customer-centric interactions.

Candidate profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in Merchant Onboarding, Compliance, Risk, or similar role
  • Solid understanding of KYC, business models, and corporate structures.
  • Familiarity with payment services, products, and ability to assess associated risks
  • Critical thinking, organization, and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for presentations.
  • Good understanding of the payment ecosystem and payment processes is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of payment acquiring products, systems, and integrations
