Our Client in the Global Business is seeking an Associate Manager – Risk and Compliance to join its team and play a key role in safeguarding the business. In this role, you will oversee critical compliance functions, act as the Compliance Officer and MLRO for Special Licensed structures, and ensure adherence to AML/CFT regulations.

Job purpose

To ensure that all assignments are completed for the Special Licensed structures in a timely manner, through a robust and well embedded governance framework.

 

Main responsibilities

  • Act as the Compliance Officer and MLRO for the Special Licensed structures.
  • Draft the AML/CFT manual of the Special Licensed structures.
  • Facilitate the AML-CFT audit of the Special Licensed entities and ensure audit reports are received for the business in a timely manner. Any matter of concern to be raised promptly to the  Senior Manager – Risk and Compliance
  • Monitor the remediation of findings and implement any recommendation resulting from the AML-CFT audit.
  • Conduct Enhanced Due Diligence as appropriate and properly document the assessment.
  • Ensure that the Business Risk Assessment is updated periodically and endorse any remedial plan as appropriate.
  • Responsible to submit the yearly AML/CFT Offsite Monitoring Questionnaire for the cycle year and any adhoc surveys requested by the regulator.
  • Review the Client Risk Assessments to ensure its adherence to the activities of the structure.
  • Ensure prompt action following Communiques/Notices issued by the Regulator. If needed, conduct a gap analysis to align with policy changes.
  • Resolve OGS alerts promptly.
  • Conduct independent sample verifications with respect to list of sanctions.
  • Perform any second level review as per the AML/CFT manual of the Special Licensed structure.
  • Conduct employee training with respect to AML/CFT matters, policies and procedures.
  • Draft response to regulatory enquiries and third-party examiners.
  • Interact with various departments within the organization to ensure application of the AML/CFT policies and procedures.
  • Perform AML/CFT investigations as appropriate.
  • Maintain a PEP register per Special Licensed entity.
  • Report to the Board of the Special Licensed entities for AML/CFT matters.
  • Escalate serious breaches of AML/CFT policy to the Senior Manager – Risk and Compliance and the Board of the Special Licensed entities in a timely manner.
  •  Special projects as necessary.
  • Act as Data Protection Officer for the clients of the company
  • Any cognate duties related to the internal Risk and Compliance department.

 

Experience and Qualifications:

 

§   Holder of a relevant degree (e.g., Management, Law, International Business, Finance)

§   At least 7 years of working experience within the Finance Industry / the Global Business Sector; in addition, ACAMS certification would be desirable.

§   Previous appointment as an approved Compliance Officer/MLRO would be desirable.

§   Excellent written and spoken English and French.
