The job incumbent plays a vital role in supporting the efficient operation of the warehouse by managing stock movements, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring the availability and quality of stock.

 

Inventory Management:

  • Handle stock entries and ensure accurate recording of incoming goods.
  • Manage stock withdrawals for internal use, sales, or other authorized purposes.
  • Organize stock for outgoing deliveries and ensure items are packed securely and accurately.
  • Label packages according to delivery requirements and verify addresses and delivery notes.
  • Oversee the delivery process, ensuring stock is transported and delivered accurately.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for all stock-related transactions.
  • Maintain detailed records of stock movements, ensuring data accuracy for inventory control and reporting.

Stock Control and Condition:

  • Monitor stock levels to maintain sufficient availability for demand.
  • Manage stock returns, ensuring items are documented and returned to the correct inventory location if applicable.
  • Develop and maintain an organized layout in the warehouse to improve efficiency.
  • Inspect inventory regularly to ensure it is in good condition and report any damage or deterioration.
Operational Involvement:
  • Actively participate in daily warehouse operations, including stock handling, organizing inventory, and ensuring timely stock movements.
  • Lead by example, working collaboratively with the team to meet operational objectives.
  • Be readily available to assist in physical tasks, such as stock transfers, deliveries, and inspections, as needed.

Safety & Security:

  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols while handling products or equipment.
  • Report any safety risks and participate in regular safety drills.
  • Secure warehouse facilities by ensuring proper locking and access control at the end of operations.

Reporting and Communication:

  • Generate regular stock reports to provide updates on inventory levels and stock movements.
  • Communicate with relevant departments to ensure smooth stock operations and resolve any issues promptly.

 

The ideal job holder should have:

  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years working experience in a similar environment.
  • Certification in store management would be an advantage.
  • Proven experience in storekeeping, inventory management, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with inventory management software or systems.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in stock record-keeping.
  • Physical fitness to handle and move stock when required.
  • Team-oriented and good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of stock management principles and best practices.
