Key Responsibilities:
As an Assistant IT Manager, you will play a pivotal role in working in full collaboration with all departments in our hotel to ensure a smooth operations of our IT department. This role offers the opportunity to showcase your expertise in Information Technology while working in collaboration with the IT Manager in a world-class resort environment.
As an Assistant IT Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring that hotel data and access control is secured and in line with stated standards and best practices
- Ensuring regular self evaluations of IT practices are completed and communicated.
- Sourcing, evaluating and implementing local solutions where appropriate
- Managing local implementation projects & testing of applications and hardware upgrades.
- Ensuring the hotel adopts and maintaining brand standards for guests and business services in relation to IT services and offerings.
- Ensuring up-to-date hard-copies of department SOPs are maintained at all times.
- Communicating new or amended procedures to colleagues in a timely manner, ensuring they have been understood.
- Controlling department forms and records according to the Shangri-La standards for Document Control.
- Ensuring satisfaction on all guests IT queries to defined standards.
- Collecting and analysing relevant and accurate information about a problem
- Seeking innovative solutions plus managing time and resources effectively.
- Completing all duties within deadline as assigned by the IT Manager and the Senior Management.
Qualifications, skills, and experience:
- A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or equivalent are an advantage.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in IT management, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Experience with property management systems (e.g., Opera, Micros-Fidelio) is highly desirable.
- Proficient in network management (LAN/WAN), server administration, and data security.
- Expertise in handling hotel technology systems (PMS, POS, IPTV, and CRS).
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware and software issues.
