Assistant Head Housekeeper/ Senior Supervisor

The responsibility of a Assistant Head Housekeeper is to plan, implement, organise and coordinate the smooth and efficient operation of the Housekeeping department on a daily basis.

 

  • Be responsible for the proper scheduling of the department, keeping in mind the forecast of daily occupancy.
  • Train and monitor Housekeeping personnel to ensure all guests and internal customers receive prompt and courteous service.
  • Identify and ensure highest possible standard of cleanliness, maintenance, guest room supplies and amenities at realistic cost.
  • Maintain appropriate standards for dress, hygiene, uniform, appearance, posture and conduct of Housekeeping personnel.
  • Coordinate with Front Office regarding rooms’ availability, out of order, maintenance and repairs and refurbishment as required.
  • Ensure control of room keys.
  • Ensure smooth running of the laundry and distribution of linen.
  • Deal with stained and torn linen appropriately.
  • Maintain cleaning materials and guest supplies in proper conditions.
  • Develop and monitor an annual housekeeping budget and plan
  • Develop & update housekeeping policies, systems procedures and standards
  • Be responsible for all housekeeping assets and recommend specifications of purchase when required
  • Conduct periodic market surveys of new suppliers and products.
  • Plan schedules of pest control, spring cleaning, renovation and audit
  • Oversee the Lost and Found procedures.
  • Ensure that incoming supplies conform to the specifications.
  • Respond to and tackle guest problems to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Review room availability status, room blockage and special requests on a daily basis.
  • Verify that accurate room status information is maintained and properly communicated.
  • Ensure that all guest rooms and public areas are in optimal state and communicate to Management any decline from standards proactively.
  • Maintain effective and cordial guests’ relations and take initiative to achieve service excellence.
  • Work closely with the Finance department when doing the inventory.
  • Attend Management meetings and convey all relevant information throughout the department.
  • Ensure that Maritim Greeting standard is being adhered.
  • Go the extra –mile to serve and impress the guests.
  • Participate in the Hotel “Manager on Duty” program.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned.
