Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Clerk to join our finance team. The successful candidate will primarily handle accounts payable functions and manage the bank reconciliation process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable, including reviewing and entering invoices into the system.
- Ensure timely and accurate payments to suppliers, and other creditors.
- Record daily financial activities such as receipts, and payments into an accounting system.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure that records match the bank statements.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes by ensuring all accounts payable, expenses and reconciliations are completed.
- Maintain accurate and organized physical records of all financial transactions.
- Communicate with vendors to resolve payment issues and discrepancies.
- Assist with other accounting tasks as required.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Accounts Clerk or in a similar accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable and bank reconciliation processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software & Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- A basic understanding of accounting principles and standards.
- A relevant qualification in Accounting is preferred.
