The Quantity Surveyor (QS) will be responsible for cost estimation, budgeting, and financial management of furniture production projects. This includes evaluating material usage, managing supplier pricing, and ensuring projects remain commercially viable from prototype to final product delivery.

AFG – Sofa Manufacturing Factory situated in Solitude is looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor (QS) – Furniture Manufacturing

The Quantity Surveyor (QS) will be responsible for cost estimation, budgeting, and financial management of furniture production projects. This includes evaluating material usage, managing supplier pricing, and ensuring projects remain commercially viable from prototype to final product delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for sofa production, including materials (fabric, foam, wood, etc.), labour, and overheads.
• Analyse project specifications and drawings to determine cost-effective solutions.
• Develop and monitor budgets for production projects.
• Source and negotiate with suppliers for raw materials (upholstery, frames, padding, etc.).
• Compare supplier quotes and ensure cost-effective purchasing.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
• Assist in contract administration for large retail or export clients.
• Support cost control initiatives, recommend methods to improve production without compromising quality and minimise wastage.

Qualifications/Skills

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, or a related field.
• 3+ years in QS role, preferably in furniture/sofa manufacturing or related industry.
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
• Proficient in Excel and cost estimation software (e.g., ERP systems).
  Knowledge of furniture production materials, processes, and cost structures.
