The IT Officer is responsible for maintaining the organization's computer systems, networks, and IT infrastructure. This role ensures the smooth running of IT operations, provides technical support to users, and contributes to the implementation of new technology solutions aligned with the company.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.

  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and applications.

  • Monitor and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure, internet connectivity, and cybersecurity systems.

  • Maintain user accounts, permissions, and access rights in various systems.

  • Manage IT assets, including procurement, inventory, and maintenance of hardware and software.

  • Troubleshoot system and network problems and diagnose and solve hardware/software faults.

  • Perform regular backups and ensure data recovery procedures are in place.

  • Update and maintain the organization’s website and internal platforms (if applicable).

  • Ensure compliance with company IT policies, procedures, and data security protocols.

  • Collaborate with other departments to assess and respond to their IT needs.

  • Assist in IT projects such as system upgrades, cloud migrations, or application deployments.

  • Stay up-to-date with new technologies and suggest improvements for system efficiency and productivity.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

  • Proven experience in a similar IT support or administrative role.

  • Good knowledge of Windows/Linux OS, networking protocols, firewalls, and antivirus tools.

  • Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Azure) is a plus.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality service.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Certification in CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft (MCSA), or Cisco (CCNA) is advantageous.

  • Experience with ERP systems, helpdesk software, or ITIL practices is a plus.

  • Willingness to travel to different sites for support when required.
