Occupational Safety & Health Officer (P/T)

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with occupational safety and health laws, conducting regular audits and inspections, and overseeing the safety and welfare of employees, including those residing in employer-provided accommodations.

EAL Man Hin & Sons Ltd is seeking to recruit an adequate candidate to fulfill the following role:

Occupational Safety & Health Officer (P/T)

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular occupational safety and health audits and risk assessments.

• Advise management on preventive measures and safety techniques to reduce risk.

• Design, implement, and maintain training programs on occupational safety and health.

• Review safety procedures and recommend updates at least every two years.

• Develop and maintain effective communication systems between management and staff on OSH matters.

• Carry out monthly workplace inspections and maintain appropriate records.

• Investigate complaints, accidents, and dangerous occurrences; produce written reports and recommendations.

• Supervise the implementation of safety measures and ensure compliance across all sites.

• Oversee lodging and accommodation standards for foreign workers in line with Ministry regulations.

• Conduct unannounced inspections of accommodation facilities and ensure proper documentation.

• Keep abreast of updates to OSHA, fire safety, and accommodation laws and inform management accordingly.

• Coordinate fire drills and ensure implementation of all recommendations from safety audits.

• Facilitate induction and ongoing training for all staff on health, safety, and emergency protocols.

• Provide guidance to the Safety & Health Committee and assist in compliance initiatives.

• Ensure all relevant permits (OSH, Fire, etc.) are valid and renewed in advance of expiry.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health Management

• Registered Safety and Health Officer (or equivalent certification).

• Proven experience with at least 5 or more years of hands-on working experience in occupational safety and health, ideally within a diverse workforce environment.

• Strong knowledge of local labour laws, OSHA regulations, and housing standards for foreign workers.

• Excellent communication, investigation, and report-writing skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
