Responsible for managing our stores and overseeing all aspects of its operations, including stocks and inventory management. Ensure that the store operates efficiently and effectively to meet the company’s goals.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Inventory management- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure adequate supply and minimize excess. Conduct regular stock checks and count every quarter on a frequency as determined by Management.
- Ensure accuracy of figures on stock management software, goods issued and received are processed on system within 24 hours.
- Ensure the quality of incoming stock and manage returns of defective goods.
- Ensure receiving of stock from supplier as per P.O and update on system.
- Monitor and pro-actively act in response to site needs/requests for construction materials.
- Verify Material Return from sites and check Material Return Form and to log back on ERP
- Perform Inventory and prepare stock reports detailing the materials and quantity of stock available in the stores.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of inventory, orders and stock levels.
- Oversee the storage of products, ensuring efficient space utilization and easy access.
- Supervise and direct the activities of any subordinate involved in stocking, replenishing, and organizing inventory.
- Responsible and in charge of all site stores.
- Ensure cleanliness of store areas.
- Ensure rigorous control of the movement of materials as per approved system generated documents.
- Ensure reordering levels are adhered to (minimum / maximum stock level) through communication with the Purchasing Department.
- Use the proper pricing methods for an issue of materials into the production department
- Ensure Issue request documents are signed by the person collecting the goods and ensure timely processing of documents into the Inventory Management System after product has been delivered.
- Supervise loading of containers to send out of the Island.
- Adhere to Safety policies while handling, storing and transporting these goods. at all times.
- Work closely with the procurement department and follow up of orders with suppliers.
- Ensure inter-departmental communication as well as effective communication with other departments.
- Assist/ review in implementation of stock management system.
- Be responsible of tools and Scaffolding being handed to Employees (record their movements).
- Order, control, manage uniform and all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (T shirt, shoes, gilet fluorescent, helmet, gloves etc) along with HR department.
- Manage storekeeper/ helpers.
- Provide training to collaborators.
- Any other cognate duties assigned by direct reporting line.
Qualifications and Profile
- 3 to 5 years’ of experience in Mechanical/Engineering sector
- SC/ HSC or equivalent.
- Computer literate.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on process improvement.
- Ability to adapt quickly to change and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- A team player with the capacity to work autonomously as well.
- Positive attitude.
