Our client is seeking to recruit a Senior Accountant who will report to the Group Accounts Manager and the Group Accounts Assistant Manager. The incumbent will be primarily responsible for the preparation of Group Accounts and holding company accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Companies accounting and financial reporting under IFRS, including preparation of consolidated financial statements under IFRS.
- Prepare and record consolidation journal entries, including eliminations and adjustments, to ensure compliance with group accounting policies and applicable accounting standards (IFRS).
- Timely and accurately prepare management accounts of Companies under IFRS.
- Reconcile intercompany balances between Holding Companies and subsidiaries on a monthly basis, and to implement reconciliation processes to ensure balance reciprocity.
- Work closely with regional accounting teams to ensure timely and accurate submission of financial data for consolidation.
- Accounting system implementation.
- Prepare monthly tax computation for the Holding Companies, to monitor tax regime and verify that relevant taxes and levies are applied as required.
- Preparation and filing of annual tax return, Quarterly APS returns, monthly and annual TDS return within statutory due dates.
- Assist the auditors in their audit fieldwork and liaising with them in relation to queries raised regarding financial statements finalization.
- Coordinate work of team members, coaching and training, i.e. provide guidance and support to junior accountants or staff involved in the consolidation process, promoting their development and ensuring best practices.
- Any other cognate duties.
Profiles:
- Holds an accounting degree or has completed/substantially completed a professional ACCA or ACA qualification or equivalent.
- Prior experience in the Global Business Sector and/or audit firm.
- 5+ years of working experience.
- Good written and spoken communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Well organized and a track record of working to tight deadlines.
