AFG – Sofa Manufacturing Factory situated in Solitude is looking to recruit Quality Controller (QC)

The Quality Controller ensures that all sofas and related components meet the company’s quality standards before they leave the factory. The role includes conducting visual inspections, inspecting raw materials, ensuring proper finishes, and conducting final product checks to maintain high-quality output. 

Key Responsibilities

• Check the quality of raw materials (fabric, foam, wood, metal frames, etc.) upon delivery.
• Reject defective materials and report to procurement.
• Monitor production stages (cutting, sewing, framing, upholstery, assembly) for defects.
• Ensure compliance with design specifications and workmanship standards.
• Conduct thorough checks on finished sofas (stitching, padding, frame stability, finishing).
• Test durability, comfort, and functionality (e.g., recliner mechanisms).
• Identify and document defects (e.g., fabric flaws, uneven stitching, weak joints).
• Provide feedback to production and development teams for continuous improvement.
• Maintain QC checklists and assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Ensure compliance with client-specific quality standards and export requirements.

Qualifications/Skills

• Diploma or Certificate in Quality Control, Furniture Manufacturing, or related field.
• 2+ years’ experience in quality control within a furniture production environment. 
• Strong understanding of furniture construction, upholstery, and finishing standards. 
• Knowledge of fabrics, foam densities, woodwork, and upholstery.
• Attention to detail and ability to spot defects.
