The Express & Ground Operations Manager will oversee and optimize express delivery and ground transportation operations across Mauritius, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities: 

This role requires deep knowledge of local logistics challenges including customs regulations,
regional transit networks, and last-mile delivery optimization. The manager will collaborate with key stakeholders to enhance operational effectiveness while
driving continuous improvement in service reliability and network efficiency.

Operations Management:

• Manage express courier operations and ground transport logistics, ensuring timely service and optimized routes across Mauritius.
• Address customs clearance complexities, maintaining compliance with local regulations.
• Streamline last-mile distribution, factoring in regional infrastructure limitations.

Team Leadership & Development:

• Supervise logistics teams, including drivers, warehouse staff, and operations coordinators.
• Implement training programs to enhance skills in route planning, tracking technologies, and safety compliance.
• Foster a culture of efficiency, customer focus, and accountability.

Performance & Technology Integration:

• Utilize data analytics to monitor key performance indicators such as delivery speed, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
• Integrate logistics software to improve tracking and automate processes.
• Identify innovative solutions for route optimization and cost reduction.

Compliance & Risk Management:

• Ensure adherence to Mauritius’ transportation laws, customs procedures, and regulatory frameworks.
• Develop contingency plans for unexpected logistical disruptions, such as port congestion or weather-related delays.

Customer & Stakeholder Coordination:

• Maintain strong relationships with local and international partners.
• Provide strategic input to enhance service levels and maintain competitive advantage in Mauritius’ express courier market.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• A degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in express and ground operations, preferably within Mauritius’ logistics industry.
