The Compliance Officer and DMLRO supports the MLRO and works closely with the Board of Directors, Senior Management, and external stakeholders to uphold BKF’s commitment to excellence and ethical business conduct.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining the Company’s Compliance and AML/CFT frameworks in line with the Financial Services Act, FIAMLA, FIAMLR, and applicable FSC Guidelines.
- Support the MLRO in ensuring the effective operation of internal systems and controls designed to detect and prevent financial crime, including anti-money laundering, counter-terrorism financing, and proliferation financing.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments, internal reviews, and ongoing monitoring of clients and transactions in accordance with their risk classification.
- Identify, investigate, and escalate suspicious activities, ensuring the preparation and timely filing of internal disclosures and Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) with the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) where appropriate.
- Oversee and enhance the client onboarding process, ensuring strict adherence to KYC, CDD, and EDD requirements while delivering a seamless and client-centric experience.
- Monitor changes in legislation, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices, advising management and staff accordingly.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all compliance activities including due diligence reports, internal audits, and regulatory correspondences.
- Participate in the training and awareness of staff on AML/CFT obligations, red flags, and compliance procedures, reinforcing a culture of ethical conduct and compliance awareness across the company.
- Serve as a backup to the MLRO in liaising with regulatory authorities including the FSC, FIU, and other competent bodies, representing BKF Services Ltd with professionalism and integrity.
- Ensure timely and accurate regulatory reporting and submissions to relevant authorities.
