To prepare beverages whether alcoholic or non-alcoholic; cold or hot and maintain appealing display, cleanliness, order, set-up and “mise en place” of the different bars, and to deliver professional and friendly service to guests as per the Hotel’s standards.

 

  • Converses with guests to obtain feedback and suggestions for improvement.
  • Provides a speedy, courteous, efficient and friendly service to guests.
  • Answers queries about all items on the bar lists, their basic ingredients and method of preparation.
  • Makes suggestions on the bar’s food, wine and drinks lists.
  • Communicates guests’, visitors’ or repeaters’ preference of meals, drinks, cocktails and special requirements (e.g. allergies), and ascertains that these preferences are adhered to by Team Members.
  • Regularly checks for guests’ satisfaction.
  • Handles guest complaints efficiently through appropriate interaction and action and/or referral to Management.
  • Keeps accurate records of tasks and duties performed everyday in the respective logbooks.
  • Records & updates beverage inventory control log books
  • Verifies that all delegated duties are carried out in accordance with the Hotel’s standards and with Management instructions.
  • Conducts frequent spot-checks within one’s allocated section with regards to work habits, in order to ensure the efficient implementation of all SOP(s) and to ascertain their professional execution.
  • Ensures compliance with Hygiene & SGS standards
  • Maintains cleanliness of bar service area, furniture, fixtures and equipment at all times.
  • Reports bad functioning of material and utilities such as lights, fans and toilets to the Bar Supervisor for any repair.
  • Properly utilises all the materials and equipment made available to the section to avoid breakage and breakdown.
  • Issues bar requisitions as per par stock.
  • Assists the Bar Manager or the Bar Supervisor in inventories.
  • Manages a rotation on slow moving products and returns them to the store before they expire.
  • Regularly clears and cleans tables and the bar counter, and empties ashtrays.
  • Assists team members in performing “mise en place” of the bar counter and tables, and in transporting goods properly.
  • Neatly displays bottles and polished glasses and various decoration items on shelves.
  • Prepares hot and cold beverages and mixes ingredients for cocktail preparations in accordance with the Hotel’s standards.
  • Replenishes drink and cigarette dispensers and refrigerators in order to keep a minimum bar stock at hand at all times.
  • Verifies availability of all food and beverages before service and takes appropriate action to replenish and/or find alternative.
  • Verifies that order forms are accurately filled out by bar Team Member.
  • Double checks tray before serving guest to ensure food and beverages items tally with orders.
  • Monitors the expiry date of the products that are served in the bar.
