Tourist Guide (06347)

Our client is seeking to recruit a Tourist Guide for its operation.

Responsibilities

Welcome and accompany tourist groups as they travel regions of the island to visit various venues;

Offer informative tours at each venue in a friendly, passionate and enthusiastic manner;

Demonstrate leadership skills and manage health and safety in a tour context;

Provide comprehensive answers to potentially challenging questions about the different venues visited, as well as Mauritius, its culture and its history;

Work with our partners at each venue to create the best experience for our visitors;

Maintain the vehicle clean and in good condition.

Profile

HSC, BAC or equivalent school leaving qualification;

NC3 from a Hotel School;

At least 2 years’ experience working in the tourism sector, in direct contact with clients;

Excellent knowledge of Mauritius, its culture and its history;

Ability to present information in interesting ways;

Good memory for facts, figures and events;

Fluent in English, French and Creole; excellent elocution
