The steward will be in charge of all kitchen cleaning operations.

 

Responsibilities

  • Operates dishwasher to properly clean all dishes and cooking utensils used in the kitchens, restaurants and banquets.
  • Washes dishes and other cooking utensils. Restocks all clean  silverware and plates.
  • Performs general cleaning in order to stay in compliance with the Health department.
  • Puts away food stock, and dry goods in their proper location, rotating “first in”, “first out”.
  • Perform general/routine cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned to adhere to health standards. .
  • Burnish, detarnish, and polish silver for proper appearance.
  • Puts away food stock and dry goods in their proper location.
  • Ensures sanitation and equipment in all kitchen areas are clean and in a good shape.
  • Should have complete knowledge of all cleaning standards.
  • Keeps kitchen, dish wash and pot wash clean and tidy.
  • Controls that all operating equipment is in perfect state and all utilities are up to the royal park resort  standards
  • Follow cleaning schedules            in kitchen, dish wash and pot wash
  • Should have good understanding of safety, cleaning and hygiene procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge stewarding materials.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Verify application of SOP procedures in service.
  • Maintains guidelines, procedures and training practices set by royal park resort
  • To apply the SOP and on the job training in kitchen
  • Ensures proper grooming as per royal Park resort  standards

Qualifications & Experience

  • High school or equivalent education required
  • Previous stewarding experience preferred
  • Fluent in English and French
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Concern for cleanliness and hygiene

 

Competencies

  • General kitchen cleaning duties including the cleaning and mopping of kitchen floors and trash removal.
  • Strong communication with associates within the department
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationship with other departments in the resort , especially Kitchen and Restaurant.
  • To follow up departmental rules set out by Chef.
  • Reports any defect immediately to Chef
  • Ensure full liaison with other members
  • Reports in case of damage ( broken equipment etc.) immediately to Chef.
  • Perform other duties as requested, such as cleaning up unexpected spills or executing special guest requests.
