Sous Chef

Casela Ltd. is looking for a highly-motivated and skilled candidate on a full-time basis for the position of Sous-Chef.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work alongside with Head Chef to manage daily kitchen activities  including overseeing staff, aiding with menu preparation and monitoring and ordering stock.
  • Supervise all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality consistency.
  • Develop new menu items and regular review of  existing  one with the assistance of the Head Chef.
  • Maintain sanitation, safety, and orderliness of all equipment, supplies, and utensils within work area.
  • Handle food items appropriately and with all safety regulations in mind during preparation and service.
  • Ensure kitchen staff  is properly trained to work at specific areas.
  • Ensure ordering of all food  products in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organised back of house kitchen operation at all times.
  • Ensure proper storage of all kitchen items in refrigerators and freezers to maintain product freshness.
  • Perform any other cognate duties as assigned by management.

 

Candidate’s Profile

  • Culinary Arts  certificate or any other relevant qualifications.
  • At least  3  years experience in similar position.
  • Prior experience in high volume food production environment will be an advantage.
  • Knowledgeable in Food Safety and HACCP Guidelines.
  • Be creative and dedicated.
  • Able to  work under pressure at high speed execution.
  • Available to work flexible hours.
