Casela Ltd. is looking for a highly-motivated and skilled candidate on a full-time basis for the position of Sous-Chef.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work alongside with Head Chef to manage daily kitchen activities including overseeing staff, aiding with menu preparation and monitoring and ordering stock.
- Supervise all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality consistency.
- Develop new menu items and regular review of existing one with the assistance of the Head Chef.
- Maintain sanitation, safety, and orderliness of all equipment, supplies, and utensils within work area.
- Handle food items appropriately and with all safety regulations in mind during preparation and service.
- Ensure kitchen staff is properly trained to work at specific areas.
- Ensure ordering of all food products in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organised back of house kitchen operation at all times.
- Ensure proper storage of all kitchen items in refrigerators and freezers to maintain product freshness.
- Perform any other cognate duties as assigned by management.
Candidate’s Profile
- Culinary Arts certificate or any other relevant qualifications.
- At least 3 years experience in similar position.
- Prior experience in high volume food production environment will be an advantage.
- Knowledgeable in Food Safety and HACCP Guidelines.
- Be creative and dedicated.
- Able to work under pressure at high speed execution.
- Available to work flexible hours.
